A week without...
...phonelines.
Well that was fun. Not! Well maybe a bit...
This last week we moved office from Wynnum to Manly (maybe three kilometres south), and having worked at home on Friday and Monday, and not worked Tuesday, I rocked on up on Wednesday expecting to have to respond to a LOT of emails (they were redoing the phone lines and internet at the new place, and I wouldn't be able to check them).
However...
To make a long story short, two phone guys and the phone company managed to collectively (spectacularly) fail to get our various communications systems working AND managed to stuff up the theoretically simple task of diverting our old office number to our boss' mobile phone while we waited for the land lines to be put in.
My boss, having already been driven way over the limit with some of the guys he had arranged to do building stuff at our new office (it's being renovated from a house) was decidedly unhappy with this extended lapse in business. (meaning: you could see the storm clouds following him ominously around the office, several phone company consultants will have nightmares for weeks and I have learned several extremely effective tricks for when customer service guys try stuffing me around)
All in all a very spectacular fiasco.
So, we got an interim solution for our phones this afternoon, and we might be getting internet next Monday. I kinda live on the phone and out of email, so this is not looking good for the state of my work at the moment - helping estate residents with their covenant enquiries... But I did get a lot of applications assessed cos I wasn't being interrupted by the phone every 5 minutes.
Still, angry and stressed bosses are no fun at all... not cool
So other than that, yay two engagement parties in as many Saturdays, and I have to find presents and smart casual clothes; seriously...
I may need to buy some clothing items...
Oh, and I totally got up at like, 5am to go do exercise. I think my desire to stay asleep was actually still asleep, so I actually managed it this time :)
I'm done :)
