Winking. And kettles.

I'm adding winking to my list of random cultural differences between Canada and Australia. People would randomly wink at me during a group conversation, and I'm like, okaay...

It was slightly mystifying - but it kept happening! So I mentioned it to my flatmate, and he's like, what, you don't do that?? You just use it to acknowledge that someone's in on the joke, or whatever. He explained it better, lol.

So there it is people. Canadians actually wink - and not just to prove they can, or in an exaggerated way to be funny. Who knew?

Aaaand here's some pics of me standing on kettles near where I work. Our fundraising through kettles this year was the best we've ever had - by a solid extra 50% over the top of our last best total. Which is AMAZING!

Yes I look bored. Standing by yourself on a kettle for four hours is BORING. Especially right after work, so I'm already tired, and frequently hungry as well. (sad face) But clearly worth it!
