A letter for Eden.

Dear Miss Eden,

Today I am going to work. I took some pictures for you so that you could see!

This is me on the bus leaving the bus stop.

Me sitting on the bus...

This is a big white house that we drove past.

These are the flags for Canada and Toronto - where I am.

This is the big blue building where I work.

These are some blue flowers that were next to the road. I was waiting for the "walk" sign so I could cross the road.

This is the sign for where I work.

These are the flowers outside the front door.

This is where I walk up the stairs...

... to get to my floor!

This is a picture someone drew that's on the wall.

This is a poster I made.

This is where I sign in - can you find my name?

These are the toys on top of my desk.

This is my desk.

This is Valerie at her desk.

This is Darlene talking to Valerie through their secret window!

This is Treetops.

He belongs to Darlene and sits on top of her CDs.

And that's the end of my going-to-work story, because now I have to do different things on my computer. Maybe I will do you a story of how I get home too!

Have a great day Miss Eden :D

Love, Stephanie.

How many grains of rice are in a cup?

I just counted a whole lot of rice.

I counted 3000 grains, and that's a quarter of a cup. Times that by four, and you get 12000 grains in a cup. Uncooked.

Just so anyone knows, if they want to go to www.freerice.com and answer random questions to donate rice to people. Apparently 19200 grains of rice (48 grains per gram X 400 grams) is what they try to give each person each day. Just over a cup and a half.

Long weekend

This weekend is the Canada Day long weekend.

So now that my roommates are all away working at camp, I have the place to myself. BORING.

I just started a list of things to do, and I'm gonna see if I can fix the annoying broken things around the place, like the dining room light that has decided it's not gonna work, and the fridge light. Sweep stuff. Get rid of a bunch of crap. Whatever. Clean my room.

I played baseball on Saturday, at the Divisional baseball tournament. I had a go at pitching for the first time ever - it was cool when the batter redeemed my dodgy pitches (which were frequent) by stepping sideways a little and smashing them into the sky. That was for the ones that had good height, but were a little sideways..... I did one of those too when I was batting - but I got caught out. Bugger.

Yesterday my muscles were loudly complaining about the consequences of exercise (of course). I watched the US olympic gymnastics team selections. So cool - wish I could have a go at that stuff. There is also a 45 year old woman in contention for the US olympic swim team - 50m freestyle. She qualified second for the final heat last night. I hope she makes it - I also hope they post the times so I can compare them to mine :P :) Annoying when they don't... grrrr.

Don't know if I have any relevant pictures. I can't be bothered taking one of me on the couch in my PJs.

Hmmmm... here'go.
